• to quote or closely paraphrase an online source, goodbye as you cite it as a source
• to quote or closely paraphrase living people, goodbye as you cite them (anonymously if it’s necessary to guard their identity, as with some anthropological informants or journalistic sources)
• to quote or closely paraphrase encyclopedias or other ‘easy’ reference works, goodbye as you cite them
