E- Learning In Pakistan
E-Learning in Pakistan.
Before proceeding towards E-Learning in Pakistan we need to understand what is E-Learning is. So as we know that the concept of E-Commerce is being introduced in the world and has gained much important that every business is transforming themselves in this concept. So Wit the time we got introduced with the term “E-Learning”. So what actually we mean by E-Learning?
E-learning: “refers to a learning system that we can obtain through the internet using an electronic device. We also call it online learning or online education.”
So we can say that the system of learning through the internet. Many of Organizations have started this concept of learning so that they can save the time of students, Employer etc. Obviously, we are living in the world in which there are some people who produce more output when they are not bound. For instance as the university Students who are offered “HYBRID-COURSES” they are studying the online course which can be one example of E-learning. As in Comsats University Lahore provided its student with a hybrid course of Report Writing Skills which was total online. All the assignments and quizzes were submitted online via portal. Specific time was provided to submit them all after due time the submission of assignment and quizzes get locked. Many of the schools used this technology and concept and removed the books system and come up with electronics books, which were easy to access. This saved much of the cost such as time, travelling etc.
On other hand we see e-learning as one good resource for providing employers with knowledge and skill that enhances the capabilities of employee.
“E-learning is training provided via a computer or other digital device, allowing technology to facilitate learning anytime, anywhere.”
The world is moving so fast that knowledge is being updated day to day. And in order to survive in the world and market latest and advanced information should be studied and skill and techniques must be learned. So this system of learning provides easy access to the people so that they can learn online. Much of the lectures are recorded and uploaded to different website and channels. This had helped not only students but the people from different sectors of profession to access them and learn what they desire. Companies are more willing to give their employees access to coaching or courses.
So we can say that no country is behind in order to avail and provide with such thing.
- Several people can receive the educational material simultaneously.
- People can study without having to physically go to a college, i.e., without have to leave the workplace.
E-learning can be useful for people who work a full-time job and others who cannot physically get to a school regularly.
E-Learning Platforms :
- MOOCs (Massive Online Open Courses), e.g. Courser a or Future learn.
- Virtual learning environments (VLE), such as Learn or Blackboard.
- Video streaming services, such as YouTube.
- Virtual instructor
- R-led training (VILT), e.g. WebEx or webinars.
- Discussion boards.
Some programs allow you to pay for the certification of the course. These courses can count as college credits, while others have value in the job market.
YouTube is one of the examples for the source of e-learning. Many of the teachers come there and upload their given lectures make channels and upload there so that the public can access them and avail the chance to learn whenever they want to.
