Importance of College Education: Opinion Essay

Abstract

Collage education is rather a more advanced education that features or is based on preparing one’s future independent life. The report below outlines some of the achievements targeted by college education in an individual’s preparation in tackling their future life goals.

Importance of college education

A college is an institution that offers post-secondary education (Britannica, 2010). This education is rather more advanced and centered to a specific discipline as far as a person’s interest is concerned. College education has several impacts on one’s lifestyle, interactions and modernity.

(Vijay, 2017) outlined some of the importance of college education as; more job opportunities, improvement of confidence and awareness, sense of responsibility in college, knowledge about various aspects of career and life and improvement in communication skills.

Some of the other importance of college education as noted by (Baum & Ma, 2007) are that there is a positive correlation between higher level of education and higher earning, enjoyment of employer-provided health insurance and pension benefits, better health and greater opportunities for the next generation and lastly any college experience produces a measurable return when compared with none.

Generally, a college education is centered at producing individuals based on their career goals and objectives but there are some more lessons such as interaction strategies and behavioral management that are somehow important in one’s life but are neglected during their stay at a college. College education also shapes an individual lifestyle in terms of lower smoking rates and a more positive perception of personal health and also their family health and relationship with other individuals. This has helped in bringing up a unique generation that values education, inter-relationships, work, health and family. Thus, education is an essential element of a successful, happy life. There are so many more opportunities that open up for a person that has a college degree. (Campbell, 2006)

Conclusion

Generally, college education plays a vital role to a productive individual, the value and excellence of one’s life. This promotes a working generation that is committed to creating a sustainable world of self-employment rather than a dependent and lazy generation.
