A civil war is when groups of people from the same country go to war, and a revolutionary war is when two different countries have a conflict between them. Revolutionary wars are within two different countries, in this case, The American Revolutionary War was between America and Britain. Both of the events were wars, but there are various differences between the two. The Civil War was between the Democrat and the Republican parties. The Civil War was mainly caused because the parties were furious at each other in spite of slavery conflicts. A Civil War and Revolutionary War are very divergent.

In addition, the Republicans were mostly supporting the north until the Reconstruction of the South, and they became more supportive of the South than before. The Radical Republicans supported the south, and they were part of the Reconstruction of the South. Both of these parties have North and South parts of it that support a certain thing in the areas. The American Civil War is different from The Revolutionary War because of this. Evidence states “A civil war can be defined as a war between citizens of the same country whereas a revolution is a forcible overthrow of a government or social order, in favor of a new system” (Difference… Page 1).
